Safety and Environmental Administrator

Client Industry : Food and beverage
Pay rate: $22 - $23/hr.
Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:00pm PST
Job description:
Must haves:
-Minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, ideally within a food processing facility supporting environmental health and safety initiatives.
-Medical training as an EMT is preferred, along with current CPR and First Aid certification.
-Spanish bilingual skills are highly preferred to support effective communication with the workforce.
Responsibilities & Duties:
May include, but isn't limited to:
• Candidate must be willing to respond as appropriate to all incidents/accidents and coordinate medical attention as appropriate.
• Distributes personal protective equipment and safety supplies as needed.
• Maintain daily activity logs to report activities, and other related safety prevention matters.
• Participate in incident and accident investigations that may occur.
• Perform safety observations, audits and inspections to assure employee safety.
• Assist in training and any other programs assigned by the Safety manager.
• Helps with Continuous Improvement projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Up to 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting, preferably within a food processing company supporting environmental and/or safety programs.
• Training as EMT, and CPR/First Aid Certification.
*Educational achievements will be considered and can be used in conjunction with experience.
• Proficient in PC supported MS programs Excel, Word and Access.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced manufacturing setting.
• Bilingual/Spanish highly preferred.
Role Priorities
1. Top 3 Priorities During Harvest Season:
• Responding to incidents and administering first aid.
• Completing incident and accident reports (including near misses).
• Maintaining floor presence and being available to employees.
Qualifications & Certifications
2. Medical Certification Requirements:
• EMT certification is strongly preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is essential.
3. Additional Safety Certifications:
• CPR and AED are sufficient.
4. Experience Requirement:
• Minimum 1 year in industrial/manufacturing, preferably food processing.
5. Language Skills:
• Spanish bilingual is highly preferred due to workforce demographics.

6. Incident Logging Platform:
• Intellex is used internally.
Work Environment
7. Common Hazards:
• Slips, falls, sprains, and bruises are typical during harvest.
8. Physical Requirements:
• Walking long distances, lifting, and working in heat are expected.
Performance & Duration
9. Success Metrics:
• No formal KPIs.
• Success is measured by responsiveness and completion of incident documentation.
10. Season Duration:
• Harvest ends mid-September.
• Role may extend through November based on performance and need.
11. Future Consideration:
• Strong performers may be considered for future seasons.
