Summary
The Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of plant operations, with a strong focus on production optimization, safety compliance, facility and equipment management, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, industrial environment and is committed to continuous improvement and team development.
Responsibilities
Production & Efficiency

Monitor and optimize daily ice production to meet quality and volume targets.

Identify process improvements to reduce waste, energy use, and downtime.

Manage inventory and coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery to customers.
Safety, Regulatory & Compliance

Enforce strict adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.

Ensure plant cleanliness and regulatory compliance (FDA, local health codes).

Conduct regular safety audits and implement preventative measures.

Lead safety training programs and promote a culture of accountability.
Facility & Equipment Management

Oversee maintenance schedules and troubleshoot mechanical issues with ice-making and packaging equipment.

Work with vendors and contractors for facility upgrades and repairs.
Team Leadership

Supervise and train production staff, maintenance technicians, and shift leads.

Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and foster a positive, motivated workforce.

Lead shift scheduling, staffing plans, and labor cost control.
Customer Service & Communication

Liaise with sales, service and dispatch teams to fulfill customer orders accurately and on time.

Address client concerns and implement corrective actions promptly.
Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in plant operations or production management, preferably in manufacturing or cold storage environments.

Proven experience optimizing manufacturing processes and managing safety programs.

Strong understanding of refrigeration, mechanical systems, and industrial equipment.

Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management software.

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
