Location: Boston, MA

Salary: $110 - 180k depending on experience

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Accessibility Consultant to join a dynamic consulting firm recognized for its expertise in accessibility strategy and compliance across a wide spectrum of built environments.

This client-facing leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives on applying accessibility standards in real-world design and construction contexts; working with a variety of stakeholders, including architects, developers, civic institutions, and nonprofit organizations. Projects span plan reviews, facility audits, and regulatory documentation, with an emphasis on shaping environments that meet and exceed compliance benchmarks.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead on accessibility-focused projects, providing informed insight on code interpretations and compliance pathways.
  • Manage field surveys, accessibility audits, and technical reviews for both new construction and renovations.
  • Coordinate directly with clients, architects, and reviewing authorities to communicate requirements and propose pragmatic solutions.
  • Conduct research and apply jurisdiction-specific accessibility codes, including but not limited to the 2010 ADA Standards and Fair Housing Design Manual.
  • Draft technical deliverables such as compliance reports, variance requests, and review commentaries.
  • Contribute to the professional growth of junior consultants through ongoing coaching and collaborative project work.
  • Represent the firm during client presentations, public agency discussions, and professional forums.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in accessibility consulting, building codes, or design-related fields.
  • Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects from initial assessment through implementation.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable codes, including but not limited to the 2010 ADA Standards, FHA, and state accessibility regulations.
  • Previous experience with multifamily housing, campus-style projects, or large public facilities is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical issues.
  • A proactive mindset and confidence working with multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid model with a mix of in-office, remote, and on-site work depending on project needs.
  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
