Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Montana


Key Responsibilities


Clinical Duties:

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Record vital signs and medical histories.
  • Assist with procedures such as injections, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and specimen collection.
  • Administer medications under provider supervision.
  • Perform basic diagnostic tests and phlebotomy.


Administrative Duties:

  • Schedule appointments and manage patient communications.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in electronic health systems.
  • Coordinate prescription refills and prior authorizations.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and properly equipped.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current CMA certification.
  • CPR certification.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
