Position Purpose: The Communications Design Coordinator is responsible for meeting the overall design needs of the agency. The Design Coordinator uses knowledge of the organization’s mission and marketing objectives in creation of design materials. Assists in other departmental events as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, journalism, communication or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Experience and skill with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office Suite and other related software within a Windows-based platform
- Possesses functional knowledge or some experience with HTML
- Able to conceptualize, design and create new artwork with frequency and ease from inception through creation of final design
- Manages the department job ticketing and tracking platforms, ensuring projects are on track, raising alerts and following up when deadlines are at risk.
- Updates print collateral as necessary and reviews for changes with each reprint/revision.
- Manages the services grids and ensures accuracy and updates with new locations, etc.
- Demonstrates knowledge of design theory and graphic design skills (portfolio required)
- Writing, copy editing and photography skills desired
- Knowledge of prepress and print technologies required
- Able to troubleshoot issues prior to sending files to production

Responsibilities
- Work hours prescribed and be available to work additional hours when necessary.
- Formulate and design fresh and innovative concepts with a minimum of guidance.
- Use knowledge of agency marketing objectives and goals in creation of designs and materials.
- Be comfortable presenting and justifying design decisions and making recommendations that improve the brand and marketing goals
- Maintain brand identity across all publications and support materials whether print, digital or electronic.
- Understands and employs solid design theory (i.e. typography, color, composition, hierarchy, the interplay of elements).
- Plan, edit, and design agency newsletters according to established schedule.
- Design agency advertising, invitations, brochures, programs, manuals, PowerPoint’s and other support materials as needed.
- Assist in designing, enhancing and maintaining agency web sites.
- Participate in special events planning and implementation as assigned.
- Write and/or assist in writing supporting copy as needed.
- Assist other staff members to meet computer-related graphic production requirements.
- Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the professional Code of Conduct and within the framework of the law.
- Understand and comply with all of the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
- Perform all responsibilities in compliance with the mission, vision, values and expectations of Rosecrance.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
- Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
- Assume other related responsibilities as delegated by the executive team or President/CEO.
Schedule
- Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 5:00pm (40 hours per week)
- Shift: 1st shift
Compensation
- Starting salary $60,600/year (based on experience, education, and credentials)
