SUMMARY:
The Commercial Metal Wall Panel Laborer assists with the installation, repair, and maintenance of exterior wall panel systems, including ACM panels, insulated metal panels (IMP), plate panels, and associated trims and waterproofing components. This role requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely at heights and in varying weather conditions.
The laborer supports installation crews by preparing job sites, staging materials, and performing general labor tasks to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with plans and specifications.
Our search is currently limited to qualified candidates living within the Hampton Roads commuting area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with installation and removal of exterior wall panel systems, including ACM, IMP, corrugated panels, and architectural metal systems.
- Prepare wall surfaces by cleaning, layout marking, and assisting with substrate readiness (girts, framing, sheathing, air/water barriers).
- Transport, stage, and organize panels, trims, fasteners, and installation materials at job sites.
- Assist with layout and alignment of panels to ensure proper spacing, plumbness, and system tolerances.
- Support installation of flashing, trims, closures, sealants, and waterproofing components.
- Operate hand and power tools such as screw guns, drills, saws, snips, and rivet tools.
- Assist with cutting and fitting panels and trims to field conditions, including penetrations, corners, and openings.
- Work from lifts, scaffolding, and ladders to install exterior systems at varying heights.
- Maintain job site cleanliness, organization, and material protection.
- Follow all jobsite, company, and OSHA safety requirements, including fall protection and PPE use.
- Work cooperatively with crew members and follow directions from the foreman or superintendent.
- Attend required safety meetings and training sessions.
- Must not be afraid of heights.
- Ability to read and use tape measures and basic layout tools.
- Must be able to work in HOT, COLD, and WINDY outdoor environments.
- Maintain professional interaction with customers, contractors, and other trades.
- Must reside within commuting distance of our main office in Virginia Beach, VA.
- This is an in-person, on-site position.
- NEED TO BE ABLE TO OBTAIN BASE ACCESS FOR ONGOING PROJECTS!
POSITION SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in construction, metal panels, glazing, or exterior systems preferred.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.
- Basic knowledge and use of common hand tools required.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Must be organized and have an eye for detail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. regularly and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to perform job duties while standing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, and climbing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and on sloped surfaces.
- This position involves work at a construction site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors.
- Overtime may be required from time to time to meet project deadlines.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers.
- Comfortable working at varying heights and multiple stories.
SALARY:
- Negotiable depending on experience
- Paid Weekly on Fridays (Mon thru Sun Work Week) w/ paystubs emailed.

- Vacation (24 hours annually, accrued at 0.47 hours a week) never expires, but caps at 24 hours.
- Sick (up to 56 hours annually, accrued at 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked) never expires, but caps at 56 hours.
