Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide expert nursing care in fast-paced emergency settings requiring recent experience with trauma levels I, II, or III. This contract position is located in Tularosa, NM, and offers multiple shifts to accommodate your schedule.
Responsibilities include independent nursing practice that aligns with recognized standards and competencies. You'll assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for diverse emergency patients, ranging from routine clinic cases to complex traumas, strokes, STEMIs, pediatric cases, behavioral health issues, pregnancy complications, post-surgical care, and more. You'll administer medications, monitor outcomes, document thoroughly, and provide patient and family education. Collaboration and delegation skills are key to managing dynamic clinical situations effectively.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience in emergency nursing with trauma exposure (Level I, II, or III)
- Active RN license in New Mexico or compact state
- BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), and TNCC certifications current and valid
- Completion of new nurse orientation and competency validation if newly hired
- Proven ability to manage psychological, emotional, cultural, and social patient needs within the emergency department setting
Work Schedule:
- Multiple shifts available
- Weekend commitment of approximately six days every six weeks
- Two on-call shifts required every six weeks, covering emergencies or additional shifts as needed
