Kids Depot, a 3-Star State of Tennessee licensed child care and preschool program, is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to lead our 2-year-old classroom.

Your Role as an Preschool Teacher:
The following duties are representative of the responsibilities required for this position. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate classroom curriculum that supports the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth of each child, aligned with Kids Depot’s educational goals.
- Maintain consistent daily routines such as diapering, potty training, handwashing, meals, nap time, and transitions in a manner that is prompt, hygienic, and supports healthy child development.
- Ensure a safe and engaging classroom environment through active supervision, thoughtful room arrangement, equipment upkeep, and regular emergency drills.
- Operate the classroom in full compliance with DHS childcare licensing standards, including strict adherence to the prohibition of corporal punishment and all safety and care regulations.
- Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where children feel secure and valued.
- Use positive guidance techniques to support self-regulation, emotional development, and appropriate behavior.
- Encourage self-expression and creativity through conversation, imaginative play, and hands-on activities.
- Incorporate rich language experiences and activities that build vocabulary, communication, and listening skills.
- Foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills through activities like sorting, classifying, and generalizing, while supporting positive peer interactions and social learning.
- Maintain open and ongoing communication with parents, including daily updates and regularly scheduled parent-teacher conferences.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation on each child’s developmental progress and classroom observations.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development, and share knowledge gained to support center-wide growth.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and team members to ensure curriculum continuity, consistent standards, and a high-quality learning environment across all classrooms.
Requirements:

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- 1+ year of experience in a supervised early childhood setting
- CPR & First Aid certified (preferred)
- Early Childhood Education credentials (CDA preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and pass a background check & drug screen
- Reliable transportation and schedule flexibility
