Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Job Type: Contract (12 Weeks)
Pay Rate: $77.00 - $87.00/hour
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Shift: Evenings
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every Third Weekend
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CT Scan Technologist to perform advanced computerized tomography procedures in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong CT imaging skills, experience with contrast administration, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality diagnostic images while providing exceptional patient care.
Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.
• Current ARRT Registered Technologist – Radiography [R.T.(R)] Certification.
• Current AHA BLS Certification.
• CT imaging experience required.
• Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
• Experience with CT imaging equipment, software, and imaging protocols.
• Knowledge of PACS systems and image management workflows.
• Experience with contrast administration and patient monitoring.
• Strong understanding of radiation safety and patient protection standards.
Preferred Qualifications
• ARRT (CT) Certification preferred.
• Experience with EPIC and hospital HIS/RIS systems preferred.
• Six months or more CT experience preferred.
Responsibilities
• Perform advanced CT imaging procedures according to departmental protocols.
• Review patient histories and verify physician orders.
• Prepare and screen patients prior to imaging procedures.
• Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
• Perform venipuncture and IV verification procedures.
• Position patients and ensure proper imaging technique.
• Evaluate image quality using PACS systems.
• Upload and manage outside imaging studies for comparison.
• Educate patients regarding imaging procedures and expectations.
• Maintain accurate documentation within PACS, EPIC, and departmental systems.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and facility policies.
