The Transportation Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of transportation systems and infrastructure. This role involves ensuring that transportation projects are efficient, safe, and sustainable, meeting the needs of the community and complying with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct traffic studies and analyze transportation data to improve traffic flow and safety.
  • Design transportation systems including roads, bridges, and transit systems according to engineering principles and standards.
  • Collaborate with local government agencies and stakeholders to develop transportation plans and projects.
  • Prepare reports, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
  • Review and approve plans and designs submitted by contractors and consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies in transportation projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in transportation engineering - highways & city streets
