Job Description
The Data Labeling Specialist supports the development of cutting-edge humanoid robotics and AI systems by accurately annotating images and video streams. This role focuses on high-volume, high-quality data labeling using proprietary tools, while collaborating closely with machine learning teams to refine workflows and improve annotation processes.
Responsibilities
- Use proprietary annotation tools to label objects, human poses, and interactions in images and video streams captured from humanoid robots.
- Apply consistent logic and guidelines to ensure accurate and reliable annotations across diverse and complex scenarios.
- Identify and flag ambiguous, unusual, or edge-case scenarios for review and clarification by the machine learning team.
- Maintain high throughput while preserving consistent quality across large batches of annotations.
- Perform careful data entry and data management to keep labeled datasets organized and up to date.
- Support data collection and quality assurance efforts by reviewing and validating existing annotations.
- Contribute feedback on workflow improvements, tool enhancements, and annotation guidelines to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with a goal-driven, engineering-focused team to meet production targets and project deadlines.
- Stay focused on repetitive tasks for extended periods while minimizing errors and distractions.
Essential Skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to apply consistent logic across a wide variety of visual scenarios.
- Proficiency using computer-based tools and the ability to quickly learn new software platforms.
- Comfort working with data entry, data labeling, and basic data management tasks.
- Ability to perform repetitive production work while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Patient, quality-focused mindset with the ability to handle multiple assignments at once.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting issues and collaborating with team members.
- Reliable, self-motivated work style with a collaborative approach in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with data analysis or quality assurance processes in a production or lab setting.
- Familiarity with data collection workflows and structured documentation practices.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office and similar productivity software.
- Interest in AI, robotics, or computer vision technologies.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback on tools, processes, and documentation.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production and lab room environment, working closely with a focused team of engineers and technical professionals. The work is primarily computer-based, using proprietary annotation tools and standard office software throughout the day. Tasks are repetitive and require sustained concentration and accuracy over long periods, so the ability to stay on task and avoid distractions is essential. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
