Degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification), and minimum 1+ years MRI experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for an experienced MRI Technologist with expertise in imaging to serve a well-established teaching hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. This contract position offers the chance to work with advanced MRI technology including Siemens Vida 3T and Espree 1.5T machines in a professional, supportive environment. The department manages an average patient census of 27 per day, including emergency department, inpatient, and outpatient cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI procedures on ED, inpatient, and outpatient populations with precision and care.
- Utilize IV skills effectively; experience with pacemaker patients is preferred.
- Operate and maintain MRI equipment including Siemens Vida 3T and Espree 1.5T.
- Document findings accurately in EPIC EMR system (preferred).
- Participate in weekend rotation and be available for on-call shifts every 5th Sunday.
- Collaborate with transport staff available from 0730-1800 to facilitate patient movement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience as an MRI Technologist.
- Valid ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Experience with emergency, inpatient, and outpatient MRI procedures.
- IV skills; pacemaker imaging familiarity preferred.
- Previous use of EPIC EMR highly desirable.
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Shifts are 3-12 hours with weekend rotation on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
- On-call once every 5th Sunday from 07:00 Sunday to 07:00 Monday with a 45-minute callback time.
- Work includes holiday coverage approximately 75% of holidays in assignment.
- Shift dress code requires black scrubs.
- Free parking and a reserved sleep room available during on-call shifts.
- Orientation includes 2 departmental days plus facility orientation.
