Provide clinical pharmacy expertise in a small critical access hospital setting, supporting inpatient care through PRN coverage from June 3 to June 8. This opportunity involves weekdays, Monday through Friday, with shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, making it ideal for pharmacists seeking per diem work in a focused, patient-centered environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Verifying medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Monitoring and supporting pharmacy technicians
- Completing medication cart fills
- Managing Pyxis dispensing systems to ensure proper medication distribution
This position is based at a 25-bed inpatient hospital with typical census ranging from 8 to 15 patients, allowing for direct impact on patient care and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Active and clear Kentucky pharmacist license
- Minimum of 1 year recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records is highly preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge to support medication therapy management
- Excellent interpersonal skills for working effectively with clinical staff and pharmacy personnel
