Position Title: Logistics Specialist

Anticipated Start Date: 5/13
Expected Duration: 12 months
Job Type: Contract with Potential Extension up to 3 Years
Shift: 4x10 (Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday) | 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate $27.50hr. on W2
Need: Bachelor’s degree preferred; or Associate degree with 2+ years, or High school diploma with 4+ years of warehouse or GMP experience; ERP/MRP (SAP) knowledge required; APICS training and forklift experience strongly preferred.
Job Description:
As a Logistics Specialist at Clients Hillsboro Distribution Center, you will be responsible for executing product logistics activities within a cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) environment. This includes the receipt, storage, and issuance of GMP raw materials used in production, as well as the distribution of marketed products to customers.
You will support shipping and receiving of GMP materials and finished goods, manage international shipments, perform accurate data entry into business systems, and ensure compliance with Genentech policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Receive, store, and issue GMP raw materials, tanks, bulk drug substances, and non-GMP supplies.

Pick and pack marketed products against shipping orders with high accuracy.

Package and ship bulk, semi-finished, and finished goods (domestic and international; truckload and air freight).

Use manual labor, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move products and supplies.

Perform physical counts of materials and products and maintain inventory records.

Conduct equipment safety and functionality checks (e.g., forklifts).

Access and input data into business systems (SAP, Microsoft Office Suite) with a high level of accuracy.

Maintain documentation according to corporate retention schedules and cGMP standards.

Support departmental projects by investigating, analyzing, documenting, and communicating results.

Manage inventory of equipment parts and consumables in support of production, maintenance, and quality operations.

Assist mechanics, technicians, and customers in identifying parts and materials.

Maintain and organize Kanban systems.

Oversee and support the work of contract staff as directed by supervisors.
Requirements
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree preferred; OR
-
Associate degree with 2+ years of relevant experience; OR
-
High school diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience.

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in warehouse operations or a GMP-regulated environment.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).

APICS training/experience is a plus.

Forklift experience strongly preferred.
Skills and Competencies
-
Strong inventory management and logistics background, ideally within the biotech/pharma industry.

Excellent mathematical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and in a highly collaborative team environment.

Proficiency with PC applications (MS Office) and business operation software systems.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods (8–10 hours per day).

Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts if needed.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
-
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
-
Work may require gowning (hospital scrubs, bunny suits, gloves, steel-toe boots).

Exposure to level 1 chemicals may occur.
-
Frequent use of material handling equipment, including forklifts and electric pallet trucks.

May require climbing up to six flights of stairs within the manufacturing facility.
Additional Requirements

All personnel must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment (STA).
