Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Needs to be able to do grade work and utility work.
- Operates one or more of the following pieces of heavy construction equipment skillfully, safely, and in accordance with traffic laws and regulations: Excavators, Backhoes, Motor Graders, Rubber Tire Loaders, Track & Wheel Loaders, Dozers, and Skid Steer Loaders.
- Follow all safety and environmental rules, regulations, and procedures as set forth by company policies and OSHA
- Operate and monitor all equipment and production area safely and efficiently
- Perform preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections; repair and/or clean equipment as needed
- Communicate with the management team on all safety, maintenance, and production needs
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
- Must have a valid driver's and Class A CDL license
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Occupational Safety Hazards and appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently and/or with your crew to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local standards
- Can stand, sit, walk, reach, balance, stoop, kneel for long periods of time
- Ability to lift tools and equipment of 75lbs or greater
- Can see up close, distances, colors and has use of peripheral vision and depth perception
- Must be able to perform physically strenuous work outdoors in all types of weather
