S&W Wholesale Foods is Louisiana’s leading independent food service supplier and is on the Move. We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join our team! This position is responsible for all finance activities such as but not limited to ACH payments, Monthly Journal Entries, Schedules, Bank Reconciliations. Overseeing all Accounting related positions.

S&W Foods is a privately held, family owned, faith-based, growth-oriented, and customer focused foodservice distribution company based in Hammond Louisiana. What you’ll do:

  • Build credibility and be viewed as a trusted business advisor by the Leadership Team as well as serving as the company’s primary relationship manager to our banking institutions, insurance companies, and accounting firms.
  • Support the Leadership Team with key financial information and operational analysis, and drive an improved culture of accountability, internal controls, and relevant business processes to help manage our growing business and add P&L value within our operating areas.
  • Provide useful financial insights to help make better decisions about formulating and executing strategy as well as leading a team of associates.
  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
  • Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development.
  • Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies.
  • Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.

What you need to succeed:

  • A leader who possesses excellent and collaborative leadership, communication, presentation, change agent, and team building skills and capabilities and the passion for wanting to lead and inspire people to develop and become participative change agents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
  • Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from a respected business school with a preference for an MBA and/or a Masters in Accounting
  • 5 plus years of corporate experience in leadership roles in finance, accounting or roles outside of finance.
  • CPA license
  • Experience at least at the Controller level and ideally at the CFO level with direct banking relationship management experience – specifically with Treasury and cash management.
  • M & A experience
