Charles Town Police Department Notice of Open Position and ExaminationsThe Charles Town Police Department is seeking qualified applicants to be appointed to the position of Probationary Police Officer. The current salary for this position is $54,323 for a WV certified police officer and $52,998 for an uncertified individual. Effective July 1st, 2024, the salary for this position will be $56,061 for a WV certified police officer and $54,694 for an uncertified individual. Generous benefits are provided. Current West Virginia Law Enforcement Certification upon hire are eligible to receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus.Current out-of-state Law Enforcement Certification upon hire are eligible to receive a $5,000 sign on bonus.Non- Certified Applicants upon hire are eligible to receive a $2,500 sign on bonus.To be considered for the position, interested persons must:Submit a completed application to the Charles Town Police Department, 661 South George Street, Suite 100, Charles Town, WV, by 5:00 p.m. on June 7, 2024.
