FoundCare's mission is to fulfill unmet healthcare and social service needs of individuals and families. In order to accomplish this mission, FoundCare operates a Federally Qualified Health Center offering pediatric and adult primary care, chronic disease management, infusion, behavioral health counseling, laboratory work, X-rays and dentistry. Our main site operates an on-site pharmacy.
Primary Purpose
- The phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining blood specimens from patients. Individuals must be proficient in venipuncture and capillary puncture.
Essential Job Functions
- Individuals must follow laboratory policy on proper identification of patients and handling of obtained specimen.
- Responsibility of phlebotomist encompasses provision of care to patient’s age neonates to geriatrics.
- Obtains medical history and vitals from donors and/or patients
- Display excellent customer service and professionalism towards all customers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to endure short, intermittent, and/or long periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
- Transport him/herself to other departments, conference rooms, and on occasion, to off-site locations to accomplish job responsibilities, attend meetings, workshops, seminars, etc.
Education and Experience
- Must have a high School Diploma along with a phlebotomist certification.
