Job SummaryWe are a small childcare facility that is able to provide big center opportunities in a home like environment. We are looking to add a part-time Float Teacher to our team! Teacher will work with children ranging from ages of 6 weeks to 13 years. Our center participates in Rooted In Relationships to help promote the development of healthy social skills as well as Step Up to Quality.
$500 Hiring BonusThe hours we are currently needing covered would be:Mondays:· 8:00-12:30-3 year old room· 12:30-2:00-infant room· 2:00-3:00-off the clock break OR cleaning/vacuuming we would discuss this in the interview· 3:00-4:00-School-Age roomTuesdays:· 12:00-3:00 -3 year old roomWednesdays:· 8:00-12:00 -4 year old room· 12:00-2:00 -infant room· 2:00-3:00-Off the clock break OR cleaning/vacuuming· 3:00-4:00- School-Age roomThursdays:· 12:00-3:00-3 year old roomFridays:· I would be able to schedule to cover if teachers are needing off for appointments or time offI would also be able to schedule you any other day of the week to cover time off, appointments or illnesses.The minimum hours I would be able to guarantee for this position would be the hours listed which add up to 20-22 hours per week depending on your choice of taking an off the clock breakMust pass Background Checks as required by the State of NEResponsibilities and Duties

  • Follow the program schedule
  • Help carry out activity plans
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children
  • Observe each child to help them improve their social skills and build self-esteem
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, do crafts, etc.)
  • Communicate with parents regularly
  • Collaborate with other educators and program coaches
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
  • Maintain a safe environment for the children

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and educational methods
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills
  • Ability to act as a mediator between children
  • Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
  • A balance between a creative mind and a practical understanding.

Preferred:

  • A minimum of 1500 clock hours in a group childcare setting
  • Certification in child CPR/First aid or willingness to obtain
