Job Description: Ascent Chemicals is looking for future sales executives who will play an integral role in driving our new business development pipeline. Principle Duties:

  • Actively engage in extensive outbound sales activities, including cold calls, emails, and social media outreach, to identify and capture new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects by targeting potential clients in strategic end markets.
  • Focus on building and nurturing relationships with new clients through regular follow-up and personalized interactions.
  • Understand client needs and tailor communications to establish Ascent Chemicals as the preferred solutions provider to meet their specific requirements.
  • Prepare and conduct persuasive sales presentations to showcase the technical and functional benefits of our chemical solutions.
  • Utilize Ascent’s in-depth knowledge of markets and applications to highlight how our products can solve specific problems or improve processes.
  • Collaborate with outside sales, information research, and marketing teams to develop and execute effective sales strategies aimed at penetrating new markets, acquiring new customers, and building on our knowledgebase.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as product development and customer service, to ensure that the sales process reflects the company's values and capabilities. Share customer feedback with internal teams to help refine products and services.
  • Utilize analytics to refine sales pitches and improve engagement tactics.
  • Actively participate in and support outside sellers in guiding new customers through the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition from prospective to active customer.
  • Provide ongoing support and check-ins to foster long-term relationships.
  • Diligently track all sales activities and regularly report progress to management. Analyze outcomes of sales efforts and adjust strategies as needed to improve results and achieve sales targets / KPIs.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends and competitor activities. Gather insights to identify emerging opportunities for new business development and strategic partnerships.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in business, Marketing, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of proven experience in inside sales or customer service, ideally within the chemical or related industrial industries.
  • Ability to quickly grasp chemical properties/applications and communicate them effectively to both non-technical and technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication, objection handling, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track customer interactions and sales progress.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the capability to manage multiple sales campaigns and priorities effectively.
  • Humble, hungry, smart - unapologetic acknowledgment of strengths and weaknesses, insatiable hunger for proactive growth, and a relentless commitment to emotional intelligence and strategic collaboration.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
