JOB DETAILS

POSITION TITLE: Cafe Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Nutrition

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

PAY GRADE: $15.75

REPORTS TO: Nutrition Manager

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The purpose of this position is to support the Agency’s needs by serving meals each day to our Elderly population at the congregate sites.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for serving the meals each day and handling the paperwork required by the Nutrition Department.
  • Responsible for preparation and cleaning of the area and equipment utilized for the meal program.
  • Utilize systems designed by Project Staff and Management Information System (MIS) for admittance to meals, for record keeping and monthly reporting.
  • Oversees collection of donations, deposits donation directly into CRT bank account on a weekly basis and prepare financial report for CRT.
  • Order meals daily, utilizing site reservation system.
  • Regular attendance
  • Attend and complete all mandatory training.
  • Order appropriate supplies for ENP office as necessary.
  • Supervises paid and volunteer staff.
  • Implements recommendations for Elderly Nutrition Project for serving meals, hours of serving, and collection of donations.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and makes reports as requested by Nutrition Manager
  • Prepares the site for all Elderly Nutrition Project activities.

  • Attendance and participation in quarterly Café Coordinator meeting and/or training sessions as scheduled by Project Staff. Café Coordinators are required to attend one (1) Statewide Conference/Training once a year and three (3) hour paid quarterly meeting. Attendance is mandatory.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Education: High school diploma or (GED) preferred

Minimum Years of Experience: At least 1-year experience in meal programs

Active Certification in good Standing in: Must have a valid Serv Safe Food Handler Certificate

Demonstrate skills in: Ability to work with people and understanding of the needs and strengths of the elderly. Experience in keeping records and statistics.

Knowledge: Some knowledge of human services delivery.

Driving Required: No Agency Vehicle: No Employee’s Own Vehicle: No

Active Driver License in good standing required upon hire and throughout employment.


ADA COMPLIANCE

Physical Ability: Tasks involve sedentary to light work, involving some reaching, handling, fingering and/or feeling of objects and materials and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).

Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability.

Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed with potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as strong odors, fumes, dusts, wetness, humidity, machinery, and toxic/poisonous agents.
