MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The HSE advisor is responsible for developing, planning, and leading the execution of HSE compliance programs for operations, driving field safety audits, and coaching management through regulatory changes. The HSE advisor will be the subject matter expert (SME) on critical safety processes across the company.   • Manage and create HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Develop and implement effective and sustainable operating practices to promote compliance, risk reduction, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Serve as HSE risk Subject Matter Expert.
  • Develop and implement HSE inspection, audit, and monitoring programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Understand, interpret, and implement relevant HSE legal requirements.
  • Define, manage, and lead an Incident Management process that includes investigation, documentation, remedial actions, and closure.
  • Guide overall engagements with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively develop and manage relationships with third-party contractors who support permitting, waste handling, inspection services, and remote monitoring activities.
  • Drive safety through field safety audits, observations, interventions, and visible leadership in the field by regularly visiting operations.
  • Provide 24-hour technical expertise to support and respond to workplace incidents and investigations.
  • Support project due diligence and scope of work activities.
  • Responsible for HSE management of change.
  • Influence and coach business leadership on HSE processes.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE & WORKING REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene or health and safety is preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant HSE experience.
  • Team leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and flexing to respond to unanticipated events as needed.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment and balancing multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with regulators.
  • Operations experience with an understanding of workover rigs is preferred.
  • Experience in emergency response.
  • Experience in managing multiple external/third-party contractors.
  • Experience working as a derrick or floor member is a plus.

  • Proven ability to think and act both operationally and strategically.
  • Ability to make tough decisions and speak out.
  • Technical knowledge and expertise to understand all the requirements to meet company, industry, legal, and compliance standards.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships as part of a team.
  • Willing and able to continuously increase knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Able to work flexible schedules and evenings/weekends as required.
  • Work outdoors in extreme temperatures and conditions.
  • Must provide proof of right to work in the United States, have a clean driving record, valid driver’s license, ability to pass a drug screen and background check, and participate in regular random screening.
