Who We Are Looking For:

Are you passionate about renewable energy and eager to make a tangible impact on the future of solar power? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Solar Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will lead the engineering design and management of behind-the-meter and community solar projects ranging from 50 kWac to 2 MWac. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing and drafting, energy performance modeling, equipment review and selection, utility and AHJ coordination, and managing third-party engineering consultants. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will interact with both technical and non-technical audiences. This position involves frequent external interactions and requires a high degree of professionalism. The ideal candidate will have a minimum Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering and at least 3 years of relevant engineering experience in the solar PV industry.

What You’ll Be Doing:

·Design: Create comprehensive designs for behind-the-meter and community solar PV projects, covering civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical aspects utilizing AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope.

·Team Coordination: Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and equipment manufacturers to develop construction-ready plans and details for installations.

·Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility and perform engineering inspections for quality control and progress reporting.

·Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation related to design and development.

·Communication: Collaborate with project development and management teams to align design requirements and schedules.

·Research: Investigate utility and AHJ requirements for interconnection, zoning, and permitting.

What You’ll Need To Know:

·Construction Knowledge: Understand construction processes and practices in electrical, civil, and structural trades.

·Design Codes: Be familiar with industry-standard design codes such as the National Electric Code, International Building Code, and International Fire Code.

·Software Proficiency: Be skilled in AutoCAD drafting software, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

·Project Management: Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects / tasks effectively.

·PV Modeling: Experience with PV performance modeling software such as PV syst.
