Our culture is rooted in exceptional performance, professional career development, supportive relationships, and delivering quality results. We provide the tools and resources you need to thrive, as well as excellent benefits and fun rewards. In fact, our staff voted us as one of the country's "Best Firms to Work For" in the architecture/engineering/construction industry.

What You'll Do

  • Possess a strong understanding of constructability issues and are proactive in working with the design team to prevent issues in the future.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager in tracking the financial progress of assigned projects in construction and closeout phases.
  • Prepares addenda for review and seeks approval from Principal-In-Charge, Architect, or Engineer, issuing them to contractors with little oversight.
  • Tracks, processes, reviews, and responds to Bid RFIs, and may attend Pre-Bid meetings and/or Bid Openings.
  • Conducts pre-construction conferences, reviews goals, and objectives with project team members.
  • Reviews costs of extra or omitted work, prepares Change Order reviews, and assists in evaluating claims and disputes.
  • Manages submittals, proposal requests, and Supplemental Instructions independently.
  • Oversees site observations, conducts punchlist inspections, and ensures contractor compliance with contract documents.
  • Coordinates final punchlist scheduling, verifies closeout documents, and assists in project archiving steps.
  • Train and mentor staff on construction administration procedures and standards.

Your Qualifications

  • 8-15 years of experience with construction projects in the public/education sector required; experience working with California's Division of the State Architect (DSA) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize projects based on schedules and deadlines, and delegate appropriate tasks to other CA or project team members.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications required.
  • Knowledge of the bidding, construction, government agency, and closeout processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to correspond with owners, contractors, consultants, and staff.
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts in the field.
  • Ability to use PDF software for digital review and approval and processing of construction documents such as RFIs, submittals, addenda, and change order requests.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit with the ability to view and navigate documents preferred.
