Boone County Fiscal Court is now hiring for a seasonal Conservation Technician in the Parks Department. This is a seasonal benefit that has no fringe benefits.
This position is seasonal with Boone County Parks. The incumbent will conduct habitat restoration work on public lands throughout Boone County. They will be Seasonal, part-time employees of Boone County Parks. The position will be located in Burlington, Kentucky with frequent travel throughout the county.
The incumbent will assist with all aspects of habitat restoration projects. Major responsibilities include:
- Implementing habitat restoration work on public lands and parks;
- Habitat restoration work may include site preparation, planting riparian buffers and dense nesting cover, using sledge hammers, chainsaws, and gas-operated tools to restore streams, wetlands, grassland, and pollinator habitat;
- Participating in trail maintenance, and management;
- Working with the general public with education and communications
Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A basic understanding of environmental, agricultural and/or natural resource science.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues;
- Ability to work independently;
- Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills;
