Salary: $18.54 - $19.47/hr

$500 Sign-on Bonus

Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service as well as monitoring and assisting with the safety and security of our building and residents after normal business hours. This position is also responsible for cleaning lobbies and common areas, and some general maintenance duties.  

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Manage the front security desk position after hours.
  2. Monitor access to the building and security cameras.
  3. Document lease violations as observed. Review footage for potential lease violations, and send evidence to property management and/or CAReS team, as assigned.
  4. Respond to and report resident and building emergencies, including calling 911 as needed.
  5. Assist in maintaining a safe environment by taking note of obstruction in hallways, lights that need to be replaced, suspicious activities, and unusual smells or sounds.
  6. Monitor parking lot to verify that vehicles in lot are registered and operable (if applicable).
  7. Respond to emergency calls forwarded from the answering service.
  8. Communicate any safety related incidents with CAReS staff.
  9. Assist with maintenance projects and upkeep as assigned. Document and communicate with on-site maintenance any observed maintenance issues.
  10. Assist with the snow removal and de-icing of the sidewalks and common areas.
  11. Assist with maintaining a clean and attractive environment around the Leasing Office, Community Room and all common areas.
  12. Maintain communications with day staff about any situations that may have occurred overnight.
  13. Read and abide by all company policies and procedures and community policies applicable to your specific property.
  14. Uses appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of CCEW client protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  15. Will regularly utilize all forms of communication (email, text, phone, etc.) and database practices necessary for this position and as directed by supervisor.
  16. As a mandated reporter, follow all procedures outlined in agency policies and procedures to report to the proper agency when there is suspicion and/or confirmation that a child or adult has been a victim of abuse or neglect.
  17. Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned by the Housing Director.
  18. Adheres to the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic Doctrine.
  19. Perform as a team member to assure that productivity; outcome measures are achieved.
  20. Perform related functions necessary to support the mission and core values of Catholic Charities.

Job Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below.  These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job. 

Education/Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.  Demonstrated ability in time management for completing duties in a timely fashion.  Demonstrated interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills; demonstrated ability to behave responsibly and maturely and work effectively as a team member. Experience with the homeless population and affordable housing preferred.

Certificates/Licenses:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a valid Driver’s License and ability to drive for work use. Must successfully pass background check as applicable to position.

Physical Abilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:

  • Regularly sit, stand, walk, hear/listen, talk
  • Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds, pull/push, carry, grasp, reach
  • Occasionally crawl, stoop, kneel
  • Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses, ability to focus

Workplace Environmental Conditions

While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will be:

  • Noise Conditions: exposed during a shift to constant or intermittent sounds at moderate to loud levels of sound dependent upon the daily activities.
  • Client Population may include persons involved in gangs, with substance abuse concerns, homelessness and/or tendencies towards violent behavior.
  • Exposure to Trauma: Employees of Catholic Charities Eastern Washington provide direct services to vulnerable community members including those who have behavioral health challenges and those who have been exposed to trauma.
