Job Description

Join the First Bank team as our Receptionist. As a Receptionist you will be responsible for greeting and directing walk-in customers in a friendly, professional manner and answering in-coming calls. You will also provide administrative support to other departments.

This is a part time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 12:30pm to 5pm and occasionally Saturdays from 9am to noon (about 7 per year).

Duties include:

Customer Service:

  • Greeting customers and answering phone calls, directing them to the appropriate staff.
  • Sending out welcome or informational letters to customers who have opened new or additional accounts or signed up for specific services.
  • Sending greeting cards to customers and employees on milestone life events.
  • Reviewing newspapers obituaries, if any customers have passed submitting a change of status form to update their status to deceased.
  • Mailing account change information notices to customers turning relevant ages.
  • Checking the bank's voicemail, faxes, and emails regularly throughout the day and forwarding them to appropriate staff, if needed.
  • Providing walk in customers with envelopes or items their banker has arranged for them to pick up.
  • Scanning batches of non-customer information for Transaction Bankers.
  • Sending out annual notice of privacy to all customers.

Loan Servicing Support:

  • Keeping track of and depositing CD interest checks from other banks daily.
  • Scanning batches brought to the bank in a timely manner.
  • Occasionally sending out letters for lenders.

Other:

  • Assisting marketing department with social media and other duties.
  • Opening and sorting mail.
  • Transcribing recordings from lenders.
  • Creating and printing UPS labels, providing receipt to requestor if needed.
  • Ensuring high-quality customer service is provided to both internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

To be best prepared for this position, a minimum of 1 year of customer service experience and a high school diploma or equivalent is needed. However, a 2-year degree in business administration or related field is preferred. Having the ability to communicate effectively with others in person, by phone or written means is a must. In addition, the ability to interact with others in a welcoming and professional manner and remain calm and focused even with constant interruptions is needed. Confidentiality in handing customer information and proficiency with Microsoft Suite are also needed skills.
