Support personnel to staff the USDA NSSP Support Team. Personnel will serve as alternate Communications Security (COMSEC) Custodians and perform multiple COMSEC management tasks, support the operations and use of multiple classified communications conferencing devices, staff the classified computer network center daily M-F from 7:30am - 5:00pm, manage user classified network accounts, provide direct user support to classified communications systems users, assist with continuity communications capabilities, and support the Departments' subscriptions and testing of the priority communications program.
Personnel assigned to this team are designated as essential personnel and are subject to being required to work beyond normal duty hours with minimal notice, work during government shutdowns, and inclement weather, and are subject to being asked to deploy to alternate work locations outside of the immediate area. This contract is for on-site classified telecommunications support at USDA Headquarters in Washington, DC.
Mission:
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Office of Homeland Security (OHS) provides departmental guidance on security, emergency preparedness, and response. OHS is also responsible for the support of National Security Systems within the USDA. The National Security Systems Program (NSSP) provides the Secretary of Agriculture, the Executive Staff, Staff Offices, and Agencies with the ability to communicate Classified National Security Information (CNSI) within and external of the Department in a secure and cost-effective manner to ensure the requirements, as directed by the White House, for the Continuity of Operations and Continuity of Government are met.
Specific Applications or Technologies:
National Security Systems: Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) certified, Homeland Security Data Network (HSDN), Classified Video teleconferencing Equipment (S-VTC) Operations, Secure Telephone Equipment Operator (vIPer, Iridium, S-VOIP), Microsoft Access Database Entry (office metrics, equipment tracking), Microsoft Office suite use (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
Clearance Requirements:
- Candidates must be indoctrinated at the SCI level or have recently been debriefed in the past year.
