SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Director of Community Impact will implement, oversee, and improve community engagement & philanthropy efforts supporting the Y on The Fly Program. This critical leadership position will be charged to advance program growth through fundraising and strategic community partnerships that align with the mission and core values of the YMCA.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Director of Community Impact will implement, oversee, and improve community engagement efforts supporting the Y on The Fly Program. The Director of Community Impact will play a key role in the expansion of the Y on the Fly Program services while upholding the Y’s mission in Social Responsibility by creating cohesive and goal-oriented strategies to provide critical services to youth and families in the areas of nutrition, literacy, aquatic safety, and overall youth development and community engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Program Development/Management/Philanthropy

  • Develop, Implement, oversee, and improve community engagement efforts supporting Y on the Fly.
  • Develop weekly, monthly, and annual Y on the Fly event schedule in partnership with his/her supervisor.
  • Conducts research on issues that impact the local community and uses data gathered to adapt and development of new strategies and new initiatives based on data.
  • Supervises Full Time Hourly Community Impact Support Specialist.
  • Leads the implementation of Monthly Giving to support Y on the Fly.
  • Develop and implement Y on the Fly Event Sponsorship initiative to support Y on the Fly.
  • Assists in YMCA fundraising activities, Annual Campaign, and special events as needed.
  • Develop and implement Quality Control initiative to ensure consistent and quality program delivery is met.
  • Completes regular safety inspections of the vehicle fleet, maintaining vehicle inspection logs and scheduling regular maintenance appointments at local automotive shops.
  • Develops financial and statistical analysis reports quarterly that includes baseline criteria and metrics to measure and growth and community impact in individuals as well as groups.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Department to create and distribute materials targeted for specific community audiences and a variety of other stakeholders.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, and child abuse prevention. ? Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor to meet the changing needs of the Y on the Fly program.

Operations

  • Conducts special events utilizing the Y on the Fly vans and attends other relevant events and meetings hosted by community organizations.
  • Ensures Y on the Fly events are being conducted as scheduled and that vans are well stocked with supplies and each event is appropriately staffed.
  • Ensures all Y on the Fly events are well communicated to team members and community partners/donors.
  • Administrative support for all general Y on the Fly program operations, working directly with the supervisor and team to improve all administrative functions of the department & Y on the Fly program.
  • Support in all Y on the Fly marketing/communications, scheduling and event calendar management, product ordering, and reporting.
  • Checks and responds to emails on a daily basis, responds to calendar invitations, and produces and edits word and excel documents as requested by the Supervisor or Team members.
  • Collects data from program participants, events, and internal and external site managers for use in program reporting and target metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Three to five years related to non-profit operations, community engagement, relationship building, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet driving requirements per organizational policy.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office programs, the Google suite, and smartphone usage.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, public relations and communications skills, including the ability to make presentations and handle media inquiries.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The schedule for this full-time position is generally Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, though overtime, evenings, and weekend work may be required depending on the business need.
