Job Description

Hours: Monday-: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; Tuesday- 8:30 AM - 8:30 PM; Wednesday- 8:30 AM- 6:30 PM; Thursday- 11:30 AM- 8:30 PM; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday- OFF

Compensation $18-$25 per hour

As a Dental Receptionist, you play a direct role in achieving and maintaining a healthy mouth/healthy body by serving our residents in a safe environment promoting long-term recovery.

Requirements:

  • Dental or medical background preferred.
  • Previous experience as a dental/medical reception, patient care coordinator, or administrative assistant preferred.
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills and ability to handle large volumes of calls.
  • Must have very strong organizational skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team.
  • Must know how to retain confidentiality when working with highly confidential information, must have familiarity of HIPAA.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and cross-train.
  • Knowledge of dental insurance preferred (including insurance verification, billing, claims, etc.).
  • Knowledge of PracticeWorks or EagleSoft preferred.
  • Sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes visitors/patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone, explaining why they are visiting and providing assistance.
  • Directory listing of persons, entities and properties listed, including direct referrals, within the organization.
  • Maintain medical records and document phone calls and transactions with regard to medical history, medications, etc.
  • Schedule new patient appointments for routine maintenance and routine referrals as needed. Also handles new patient paperwork as needed.
  • Ensure that all follow-up appointments are scheduled. Routinely call patients who could not schedule follow-ups at the time of their initial visit.
  • Coordinate financials the day before patient appointments.
  • Maintain security by following procedures for medical records and medical supplies. Monitoring for security violations.
  • Maintain impeccable office organization.
  • Maintain daily calendars, coordinate appointments for clients and staff, facilitate referrals to appropriate services as needed.
  • Communicate with patients to ensure quality of care and develop care plans.
  • Process payments and update accounts to reflect balance changes.
  • Provide administrative support by making copies, sending faxes, organizing documents and rearranging schedules.
