Academic RequirementsOutstanding achievement, including excellent law school record, references, demonstrated leadership, litigation and writing skills.Admission to CA Bar Preferred but not required initially. Type of ExperienceLitigation experience including in intellectual property, securities, privacy, class actions, business torts, contract disputes, attorney malpractice, internal investigations, white collar criminal, environmental, health care, high technology, media and entertainment, and products liability. Candidates ideally will have strong writing skills, be entrepreneurial about developing their practice, and have experience with the nuts and bolts of pre-trial work, investigations, and/or trials. Litigation experience can be at a law firm, government agency or non-profit. Over 85% of our client's litigators served as a clerk to a federal or state judge so experience as a judicial clerk is encouraged, but not a prerequisite for the right candidate with other proven litigation experience.Type of WorkDepends on experience and matter; they handle their clients’ biggest, most cutting edge problems as well as their most significant litigations. Our client's litigators are both generalists and develop various areas of expertise, whether that be in an industry and/or a specific practice area. They look for excellent candidates who will be writing briefs, leading investigations, managing discovery, preparing witnesses for trial, taking depositions, formulating strategy for cases, arguing motions, and managing day to day litigation tasks.Degree of Client ContactAs much as appropriate: depends on experience and client skills – no preconceived limitation.TravelSome of our work is outside of California and may require travel for trial, hearings and depositions.Billable HoursOur client has no formal billable hour requirement. But their lawyers work hard.
