If you are looking for the most intense and rewarding challenge of your career then read on…DIRTT is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator to work in our Savannah location. The successful candidate must be able to work a 4 days on, 4 days off, 12-hour shift rotation.

What You'll Do:

  • Consults blueprints, work orders, and/or schematics to safely construct specified structure; develops additional sketches if needed.
  • Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strength.
  • Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions.
  • Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.
  • Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.
  • Performs assigned work on assembly lines such as punching holes for screws or bending gutters.
  • Uses appropriate machinery and software applications to complete assigned jobs.
  • Coordinates required shutdowns and startups of equipment with other departments after sheet metal installation.
  • Develops and maintains records for projects and repairs.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work space.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring to DIRTT:

  • Previous experience in a custom sheet metal environment
  • Previous Welding experience an asset
  • Welding certificate from a recognized post secondary institute
  • Basic knowledge of turret punch laser combo, press brake, and spot-welding
  • Working knowledge of hand tools, calipers and measuring tapes
  • Able to read, interpret shop drawings to construct products with care and precision
  • Previous experience in precision “thin sheet” (tight tolerance work) considered an asset
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive approach, results oriented with high attention to fine details

Will start as Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm, and will shift to 4 on 4 off 6am-6pm days.

Steel-toe shoes/boots are required

This role classified as safety sensitive: pre-employment drug & background screening will be required as a pre-requisite for this role
