Temporary Ultrasound Technologist Position - OB/GYN Outpatient Center

Location: Chicago

Assignment Duration: Temporary ongoing with option to permanent after 16 weeks.

Hourly Rate: 58.00

Schedule: Daytime schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound examinations on pregnant patients to assess fetal growth, development, and well-being.
  • Obtain and review patient medical histories, including previous ultrasound studies and relevant clinical information.
  • Utilize ultrasound equipment to acquire high-quality images of the fetus, placenta, and maternal anatomy, adhering to established protocols.
  • Assess fetal biometry, anatomy, and Doppler flow studies to identify abnormalities or signs of high-risk pregnancy complications.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, perinatologists, and healthcare team members to interpret ultrasound findings and develop appropriate management plans.
  • Provide patient education and support throughout the ultrasound procedure, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of ultrasound findings, patient assessments, and procedural details in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of ultrasound equipment, performing routine quality assurance checks.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and continuing education activities to stay current with advances in obstetric ultrasound imaging.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in diagnostic medical sonography or related field.
  • RDMS certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with a focus on obstetric ultrasound imaging.
  • Experience working with high-risk pregnancies, including knowledge of fetal anomalies and maternal-fetal medicine interventions.
  • Proficiency in performing transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound examinations, as well as Doppler studies and 3D/4D imaging techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with pregnant patients and their families.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing patient volumes and departmental needs.
