OVERVIEW:

A successful Inventory Clerk is a reliable professional with excellent record-keeping abilities. They possess great attention to detail and a business mindset. The goal is to ensure that all health system operations have adequate material to achieve their objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Ensure inventory is accurately and responsibly managed: ensures cycle counting is being done according to standard.
  2. Inspect the levels of hospital and clinic supplies and raw material to identify shortages
  3. Monitors internal distribution center and unit level stocking activities, maintaining a cost effective, customer supportive level of materials and ensuring that urgent customer requests are expedited.
  4. Responsible for overseeing physical inventory in the internal facility distribution center; utilizes inventory management of systems to evaluate reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Report to management on stock levels, shortage, issues, etc.
  2. Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory
  3. Utilizes approved applications for troubleshooting and problem-solving solutions for purchasing, inventory, shipment, receiving, special order deliveries, and back order, issues, and error resolutions, purchasing, or supplier personnel, as appropriate.
  4. Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus
  5. Ensure the cleanliness of the internal facility distribution center, supply rooms, staging areas, and cars according to accreditation standards.
  6. Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships
  7. Collaborate with hospital employees and other staff to ensure patient service goals are met
  8. Must follow standard precautions and wear PPE when required. May handle biohazard materials and chemicals. Requires the use of motorized and non-motorized distribution equipment.
  9. Perform any other duties that may be necessary for the operation of the corporation and/or hospital

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required
  2. Two plus years’ experience in inventory control

Physical Requirements:

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  2. Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  3. Exemplary mathematical and analytical skills
  4. Able to work irregular or extended hours, including weekends and nights as needed
  5. Able to lift 50 pounds without restrictions
  6. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours
  7. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionization radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a hospital and/or clinic environment
