Organization Name: Shelby American, Inc.

Hours/Week: Part Time up to 25 Hrs

Scheduled Hours: Hours vary Sunday through Saturday, to include: a 30-minute unpaid Meal Break after 6 hours of work and two paid 15-minute breaks for every four hours of work.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Purpose

Responsible for leading the guided Tours; directing, educating, and entertaining visitors of the Shelby Heritage Center. When there are not any scheduled tours; assist Store with tasks at hand: prepping/stocking merchandise, keeping store fully stocked, clean, making tour bags, etc.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead the scheduled tours in the Heritage Center.

• Greet customers in a friendly manner.

• Regular and consistent attendance.

• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.

• Provides customer service support.

• Educate the public of our past and present activities, products and services.

• Refer people to the appropriate Sales Team personnel.

• Recommend improvements or changes needed for the Heritage Center.

• Perform Special Tours as assigned by management and/or direct supervisor.

• Required to wear assigned Shelby apparel as designated by Store Management, which will be supplied to Associates.

• Be knowledgeable of the merchandise and current promotional offers in the store

• Be resourceful in assisting with any customer inquiries (ie: answering their questions or directing them to who can answer their question(s).

• Must work well individually and with others.

Personality

• Must have an outgoing personality and be good with people.

• Must be comfortable publicly speaking in front of a crowd.

• Must have a positive outlook.

Requirements:

Knowledge

• Have product knowledge on the types of vehicles and trucks we produce.

• Have a general knowledge on the types of vehicles and trucks we have built in the past 50 years.

• Acquire the general historical information of our founder: Carroll Shelby.

• Have a good overall knowledge regarding the workings of a car.

Work Activities

Assisting others, evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, organizing, planning, and prioritizing work, establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships, documenting/recording information, communicating with supervisors, peers, or subordinates, communicating with persons outside organization, thinking creatively, updating and using relevant knowledge, performing administrative activities, identifying objects, actions, and events, interpreting the meaning of information for others, processing information, monitor processes, making decisions and solving problems, getting information, interacting with computers, scheduling work and activities, performing for or working directly with the public, file or retrieve paper documents and related materials, compile numerical or statistical data, prepare reports and certificates for vehicle leaving our facility as completed, processing outgoing mail, comply with company policies and/or regulations, use computers to enter, access or retrieve data, prepare reports for management upon request, assist with coordination of activities if requested, restock and maintain office forms, attend company meetings, maintain customer records, reports, or files, write business correspondence, answer customer or public inquiries, use word processing or desktop publishing software, maintain records management systems, use oral or written communication techniques.

Abilities

Requires repetitive movement, standing for six to eight hours per shift, lifting boxes, face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams, use of electronic mail, telephone conversations, contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone, or otherwise). Opportunity to make decisions without supervision. Freedom to determine tasks, priorities, and goals. Requires repeating the same physical activities or mental activities over and over. Requires being exact or highly accurate, requires meeting strict deadlines. Requires work with external customers or the public, work with others in a group or team, coordinating or leading others in accomplishing work activities.

Work Environment

Requires working indoors outdoors, exposure to sounds and noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable when working indoors and may incur exposure to extreme heat weather conditions when in the shop area. May also be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials when in the shop area. Job duties are performed independently.

Qualifications

Experience and Education

Three or more years of similar experience. High School/G.E.D. Work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.

Ability to pass a Pre-Employment, Random or Reasonable Suspicion Drug Screen(s).

Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Background Check.

Skills

Basic Skills: Active learning, active listening and critical thinking to include public speaking.

Social Skills: Coordination, instructing, negotiation, persuasion, service orientation, social perceptiveness.

Resource Management Skills: Time management.

Desktop Computer Skills: Internet and Email.

Knowledge

Required: Customer and personal service, English language. Historical and current knowledge of key vehicles and events of Shelby American Inc.

Tools: Calculators, desktop computers, scanners, copiers, fax and phone systems.

Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Word and Excel.
