Job Description

At Home Harmony is transforming how healthcare is delivered to aging seniors and medically vulnerable members in our community. Our private practice is focused on keeping seniors healthy by providing care in their homes through an interdisciplinary team of providers, pharmacists, nurses, social workers and others all working together to meet our patients needs. We are seeking an experienced lab technician with extensive laboratory operations experience to help build and operationalize our laboratory services supporting our mobile primary care practice. This is a unique opportunity for someone with big picture thinking to help develop lab operations and workflows in a company that plans to expand nationwide and will need to replicate services with our growth.

The position will work under the direction of the practice clinical operations lead. The practice needs a leader who has the interest and ability to help plan, organize, operationalize, and maintain the laboratory and all things related to the laboratory compliance and function. This position is full-time. The schedule is flexible with ideal hours of M-F between 8-4pm.

Primary Job Duties include:

  • Developing, designing, operationalizing and maintaining lab for At Home Harmony
  • Responsible for the performance and compliance of various lab tests such as common venipuncture tests and point of care tests in primary care practices, etc.
  • Participate in all departmental training programs and develop trainings as related to lab needs.
  • Helping to develop employee plan for mobile lab/mobile phlebotomy.
  • Documenting and following the laboratory's procedure for specimen collection, handling, and processing, as well as test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of test results.
  • Developing, maintaining, and following the laboratory's quality control policies.
  • Performing and documenting all quality controls activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
  • May be required to provide medication and/or device delivery to patients homes occasionally.
  • Identifying indicators that may impact test performance or reporting of test results and either making corrections or notifying Medical Director or Clinical Operations team.
  • Ordering, receiving, and distributing laboratory stock as needed in laboratory and treatment area.
  • Understanding all checklists and being able to perform all duties on the checklists associated with the position.
  • Adhering to safety policies as defined by the practice and OSHA.
  • Providing positive, warm and friendly customer service in all interactions.
  • Fostering teamwork and a positive, professional atmosphere.

  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary team
  • Provide leadership, consulting for needs of company and direct leadership in lab best practices
  • Completing other duties as directed.

Qualities of a successful candidate include:

  • CCMA
  • Clinical/Medical Laboratory Scientist (CLS/MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
  • Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology and have two years training/experience; or a bachelors degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science and one year training/experience
  • Ability to oversee and work in the laboratory independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
