We are currently seeking a Medical Records Clerk who will assist the pre litigation department. The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing deficiencies in medical records as well as following up with medical providers for missing medical and billing records. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using various legal and medical software to effectively obtain necessary documents as well as maintain an effective workflow. This is an in-office position which will work in a team environment and with other Medical Records Clerk.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience handling medical records for a pre-litigation department with duties such as:

  • Reviewing medical and billing record affidavits for completion and ascertaining deficiencies.
  • Compiling lists of medical and billing records, as well as lists of providers and missing records.
  • Pursuing collection of all medical and billing records that have been submitted for each client.
  • Notating file management system with comments of pending items and action items for workflow accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Pre-Litigation Paralegals and medical records providers by using independent discretion on the best way to obtain necessary documents.
  • Managing medical liens.
  • Working experience with software such as ChartSwap, Needles, and other legal and medical records software.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required; Some college experience is a plus;
  • Prior law firm experience preferred;
  • Prior working experience managing medical records in a legal department;
  • Proficient in use of computers, internet, social media, and relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must have experience in a busy professional setting;
  • Must be well organized and adept in planning and multi-tasking
  • Attention to detail and highly organized (i.e., able to prioritize and complete work by deadlines)
  • Must be able to take initiative on items;
