Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY / BASIC FUNCTIONS: The position contributes to our success by providing prompt, courteous service for our members and guests at our in-house Beach & Cable Barista. Creates a welcoming experience by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS FORMAL EDUCATION, MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Good food and service knowledge; ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; able to work as part of a team
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Interacts with members and guests to take beverage and food orders.
  • Ensures prompt and consistent delivery of quality beverages and food products for all members and guests by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
  • Anticipates member and/or guest and outlet needs by constantly evaluating the environment and noting cues; discovers and responds to member and/or guest needs.
  • Delivers legendary customer service by displaying both a genuine "Service Heart" and a "customer first" attitude, connecting with the members and guests.
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep outlet operating to standards and to set a positive example for the team.
  • Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products. Ensures cleanliness of the outlet including polished or plastic flatware, clean glassware, cups and plates.
  • Communicates with kitchen for food ordering.
  • Handle all checks and cash according to established procedures.
  • Communicates information to manager / supervisor so that the team can respond as necessary to create the appropriate environment during each shift.
  • Assists with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
  • Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing changes in employee morale and/or performance and communicating them to the outlet manager / supervisor.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that staff can locate resources and products, as needed.
  • Is familiar with all property amenities and other restaurants.
  • Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the property's culture, mission and values.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in other areas of food and beverage operations, as needed or required.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the department.
  • Interface positively with other departments, offering assistance when needed.
  • Ability to work any assigned shift / work schedule.
  • Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by the Executive Chef, Dining Room Manager, Restaurants Manager, Director of Food & Beverage (F&B), Owners, Managing Director (MD) or the Assistant General Manager (AGM).
