Job Description

Panagora seeks an experienced technical proposal writer to work with in-house subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and finalize proposal writing across a range of sectors. The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of relevant experience within international development and USAID contexts, including in technical writing for proposals and other products.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with SMEs, from capture to proposal development, drives technical proposal writing processes
  • Interprets donor solicitation requirements and develops outlines in collaboration with proposal leader and SMEs
  • Facilitates and contributes to the design of technical strategies and approaches in collaboration with SMEs, proposal partners, and proposal reviewers
  • Mentors proposal section writers and serves as a proposal reviewer for responsiveness, persuasiveness, technical quality, depth of country context, and section alignment
  • Organizes and synthesizes technical research and ensures it is adequately reflected in final draft of proposal
  • Integrates technical content from different sections into one cohesive, responsive and persuasive proposal that is in “one voice”
  • Perform substantive edits of proposal drafts prior to submission including changes to overall structure, content, organization, and flow
  • For certain proposal efforts, serve as lead technical writer for overall technical proposal or contributing writer for assigned sections
  • Develops and maintains capability statements corporately and across practice areas in between proposal efforts
  • Provides general writing editing services across company departments, as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience writing proposals and other communication products within the international development context, including at least five years’ writing and editing technical proposals for global and bilateral USAID-funded proposals
  • Experience writing and editing proposals and communication products for global health, localization, and MEL desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Efficient and effective writing for different audiences
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful work environment
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity

Departments/teams will hold in-person meetings that involve a high degree of collaboration, where ideas are generated quickly and often feed off each other, e.g., brainstorming, storyboarding, proposal development, strategic planning, and performance discussions. Staff who reside in the DC/MD/VA area are strongly encouraged to work from the office on those days.
