Description:
Provides holistic, quality and cost-effective care for women, and participates in the medical management of uncomplicated prenatal and gynecological patients, to achieve or maintain optimal health status, manage disease and reduce risk of illness. Practices within a health care system that allows medical consultation, collaborative management and referral health care of women, i.e. well woman, gynecology, obstetrics (ante partum, labor, delivery and postpartum), and family planning.

- Demonstrated experience working with interdisciplinary, multi cultural staff.
- Knowledge of record keeping, nursing theories, policies and practices; medical and lab equipment and testing procedures; medications.
- Skilled in interviewing and counseling clients; operation of laboratory and medical exam equipment.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality on all information gained in the performance of duties; exercise sound professional judgment.
- Ability to make decisions independently in accordance with established policy and use initiative and judgment in carrying out duties;
Requirements:
- Completion of a Nurse-Midwifery Program accredited by the American College of
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required.
- Two to four years of experience in obstetrics.
- Certification by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) required.
- Current Connecticut State RN license required.
- Current LNM license required.
