Job Summary: Children’s Medical Center is a community-based, private practice seeking to recruit a full-time or part-time Pediatrician to join their highly respected single specialty group of three Pediatricians, along with a Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant.    This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to start with an established practice that has been in the community since 1947.  The position is mostly outpatient; inpatient includes rounding on well newborns only.  No delivery call.  Atrium Medical Center has approximately 800 births per year. Call will be 1:4.  After hours answering service call rotation with all providers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and treating illnesses, medical conditions, and injuries.
  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  • Collecting, recording, and maintaining patients' information and histories.
  • Documentation of patient care into an electronic health record.
  • Prescribing and administering treatments, therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care.
  • Explaining procedures and discussing test results or prescribed treatments with patients and family members.
  • Monitoring patients' conditions and progress.
  • Directing, coordinating, consulting with, and referring patients to nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.
  • Advising patients, parents, and guardians on diets, activities, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Conducting research and remaining up to date on current trends, discoveries, and developments in the field.

Education and Experience:

  • A Medical degree and the successful completion of a residency and fellowship in pediatrics.
  • A license and certification to practice pediatrics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to relate to children.
  • Strong decision-making, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • A caring and compassionate nature when working with children and their families.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible
  • American Trained, US Citizen or Permanent Resident Status

Interaction:

Individuals may interact with patients, families, co-workers, and the general public.  May expect exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and medicinal preparations.  May require individuals to work in outside elements to provide patient care due to business needs.
