Lucy School seeks a passionate, creative, and student-centered full-time Art Teacher to join our vibrant learning community for the 2026-2027 school year. This position serves students from PreK through 8th Grade and plays a key role in fostering artistic expression, creativity, and confidence across developmental stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver an engaging, developmentally appropriate visual arts curriculum for PreK8 students
- Introduce a wide range of media, techniques, and art history connections
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to integrate art into interdisciplinary units
- Create a supportive, inclusive studio environment that encourages risk-taking and creativity
- Display student work and help curate school-wide exhibitions and events
- Maintain and organize art supplies, materials, and studio space
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues about student growth and progress
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (Masters preferred)
- Teaching experience with elementary and/or middle school students
- Strong understanding of child development across PreK8
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a team-oriented culture
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
- Enthusiasm for experiential education
