The Minot Public Library is accepting applications for the position of Technology and Circulation Librarian, with an application deadline of Tuesday, May 5th 2026. This position is open to all qualified internal and external applicants.
Nature of Work
Responsible to support the Library’s mission of excellence in customer service by maintaining the Integrated Library System, internet connectivity, computer-based technologies and networks. The work includes support of all Library-oriented servers, software, specialized hardware and software installations, printers, fax, scanners, copiers, basic network (LAN/WLAN) troubleshooting, firewalls, routers, switches, and hubs. Serves as a Reference Librarian and Shift Supervisor by assisting patrons with research and information requests, providing front-line technology support, and assisting staff members. Performs basic Collection Development duties, including selection and weeding, as well as providing patron and staff technology training. Please see the attached job description for complete details.
Education, Experience, Other Requirements
- One to two years of IT experience
- Completion of a B.A. or B.S. degree in a related field. Technology, computer science, or librarianship is preferred.
- Some knowledge of principles, methods, and practices of professional library work. Previous library experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of effective supervision methods and practices.
- Possession of (or ability to obtain) a North Dakota driver's license.
Compensation and Benefits
- The assigned salary range for the position of Technology and Circulation Librarian is a Grade 62, which starts at $28.19 per hour.
- This is a full time, FLSA Exempt position not eligible for overtime.
- This is a fully benefitted position.
- North Dakota Veteran’s Preference Applicable under NDCC 37-19.1
