Middle-Level Cartographic Analyst
Work Location: NGA-WASH (NCE) Fort Belvoir North Area in Springfield, VA;
- Full time in the building
- Day Shift
Security Clearance: TS/SCI, with a willingness to obtain a CI Polygraph
Salary starting at $95,000 - $100,000 based on educational and experience level
Primary Responsibilities:
The GIS / Cartographic Analyst - Journeyman will work within a government/contractor team environment providing Digital Nautical Chart and Electronic Nautical Chart Conversion, Production and Review as well as provide support to existing and developing mission areas. Future needs and capabilities, as well as developmental assignments, are included.
Basic Qualifications:
- A total of 5 points of relevant background via one of the following pathways:
- High School diploma and 5 years of relevant military or full-time geospatial professional experience.
- High School diploma and 4 years of experience plus GPC Level I and II certification.
- Relevant bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in geography, cartography, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), with proficiency in ArcGIS applications.
- Knowledge of digital cartography, GIS production techniques, and NGA digital data formats.
- Ability to analyze imagery and non-imagery source data for hydrographic products and databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Nautical Maritime domains.
- BA degree and 2 - 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
