Our close-knit Endocrinology team is seeking a dedicated Certified Diabetes Educator RN to assist patients in taking charge of their health. In this position, you will offer education, support, and guidance to patients and their families, equipping them with the necessary tools and confidence to manage diabetes successfully.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide education on diabetes management and lifestyle adjustments.
  • Work alongside healthcare providers and care teams to develop individualized care plans.
  • Advocate for patients while ensuring safety, quality, and compassion in care.
  • Deliver care that is sensitive to cultural, age-related, and personal needs.

Position Specifications:

  • Education: Completion of an accredited nursing program.
  • Licensure: Valid nursing license from the State Board of Nursing in the relevant state.
  • Experience: Registered nurse with at least 5-7 years of clinical experience. Familiarity with adult education principles is essential. Ability to create and adjust teaching outlines to enhance patient and family comprehension of diabetes management is required. Strong interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Certifications: CPR certification.
  • Additional Requirements: To ensure patient safety, all licensed staff must successfully complete a medication and math competency assessment prior to taking on medication administration duties. This assessment will evaluate knowledge of common medications, their effects, and dosage calculations. A minimum passing score of 90% is required, and the test may be retaken once. Failure to pass the second attempt may lead to termination of employment.
