Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make an impact supporting students’ growth and independence as a contract Occupational Therapist in a dynamic school environment. You’ll join a dedicated team for the 2026-2027 academic year, providing direct, onsite services throughout the district. This is a hands-on, itinerant role focused on delivering high-quality therapy, tailored interventions, and meaningful progress for young learners.
Your expertise will help students thrive by enhancing their fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills—enabling success both in and out of the classroom. The district fosters a welcoming atmosphere where your contributions matter every day.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active New Mexico OT license required
- Previous school-based OT experience strongly preferred
- Experience with IEP documentation, report writing, and compliance
- Comfortable working itinerantly with multiple sites/students
- Skilled in delivering evidence-based direct occupational therapy services
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individualized and group OT services
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to maximize student outcomes
- Maintain meticulous documentation, including progress reports and IEP components
- Support students with adaptive needs and develop strategies for independence
- Manage itinerant schedule efficiently across assigned schools
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational teams
This is an onsite-only position—virtual services aren’t considered—and runs from August 10, 2026 through May 20, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. As the sole provider for this contract, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting difference for your caseload.
