Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A special education teaching opportunity is available at an elementary school in Lakeville, MN, for a leave-term contract from January 5 to March 6, 2026. This onsite role offers a caseload of six to eight students within a site-based program focused on Developmental Cognitive Disabilities and Speech/Language or Multiple Modalities. The teaching team currently includes two other site-based special education instructors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support to elementary students with diverse special education needs, including behavioral and cross-categorical disabilities.
  • Collaborate with a team of special education professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Maintain documentation and compliance with all relevant educational standards and regulations.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching credential in Special Education, with any of the following endorsements preferred:
    • Autism Spectrum Disorders
    • Developmental Disabilities
    • Early Childhood Special Education
    • Emotional Behavioral Disorders
    • Learning Disabilities
  • Academic & Behavioral Strategist (ABS) license is optional but advantageous.
  • Experience working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities across multiple areas.
  • Ability to work onsite in Lakeville, MN, full-time (37.5 hours per week).
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
