Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A special education teaching opportunity is available at an elementary school in Lakeville, MN, for a leave-term contract from January 5 to March 6, 2026. This onsite role offers a caseload of six to eight students within a site-based program focused on Developmental Cognitive Disabilities and Speech/Language or Multiple Modalities. The teaching team currently includes two other site-based special education instructors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to elementary students with diverse special education needs, including behavioral and cross-categorical disabilities.
- Collaborate with a team of special education professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Maintain documentation and compliance with all relevant educational standards and regulations.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching credential in Special Education, with any of the following endorsements preferred:
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Developmental Disabilities
- Early Childhood Special Education
- Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Learning Disabilities
- Academic & Behavioral Strategist (ABS) license is optional but advantageous.
- Experience working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities across multiple areas.
- Ability to work onsite in Lakeville, MN, full-time (37.5 hours per week).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
