Position Overview

  • Employment type: Full-time

  • Location: Muskegon, Michigan

  • Specialization: Pulmonary

  • Team composition: 6 physicians & 4 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

  • Facility: Level 2 trauma center

  • On-call duties: None

Responsibilities of the Physician Assistant

Inpatient Duties:

  • Conduct rounds on pulmonary patients in both hospital and ICU settings, collaborating with physicians, documenting progress notes, and overseeing treatment plans/orders.

Outpatient Duties:

  • Manage hospital follow-ups and acute care appointments.

  • Perform patient assessments and provide education.

  • Coordinate care and manage chronic diseases.

  • Weekend coverage: 1:5 rotation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in pulmonology, hospital medicine, cardiology, or critical care is preferred but not mandatory.

  • New graduates are welcome to apply.

  • Physician Assistants must be board certified before starting employment.

  • Active Michigan medical license (or the ability to obtain one).

  • DEA license required.

  • BLS certification (must be maintained).
