Dental Assistant Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing top-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the office.

Responsibilities:
✅ Patient Care & Comfort:
- Greet patients upon arrival and monitor appointment schedules.
- Help patients feel comfortable by demonstrating care and concern.
- Obtain and review health histories according to office protocols.
✅ Chairside Assistance:
- Set up treatment rooms for procedures and ensure they are properly stocked.
- Anticipate and assist the dentist’s needs during treatments.
- Perform expanded functions as allowed by state regulations and as directed by the dentist.
- Accurately record treatment notes in patient charts.
✅ Sterilization & Compliance:
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment following OSHA regulations.
- Disinfect treatment rooms and sterilize instruments and handpieces according to protocols.
- Keep trays, instruments, and treatment room drawers organized.
✅ Office & Administrative Support:
- Securely store and handle patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Assist in sending and tracking dental lab cases.
- Help with administrative tasks when necessary (e.g., answering phones, unpacking supplies, completing insurance forms).
✅ Teamwork & Professionalism:
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
- Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative environment.
- Help in other areas of the office when needed.
Qualifications:
- Compliance with state dental practice requirements (e.g., X-ray certification).
- Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members, and the community.
- Previous experience as a dental assistant preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and anticipate the needs of the dentist.
