Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Camp Lejeune, NC, is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter for a contract position. This role involves facilitating communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their educators, ensuring full access to the curriculum and school environment for all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, school events, and meetings.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support the educational needs of students requiring sign language services.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications.
• Assist in the development of appropriate instructional materials as needed.
• Adapt interpreting strategies to suit individual student needs and learning styles.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills.
• Experience working in educational settings, preferably K-12.
• Ability to work effectively with children and educators.
